How to spot a Broggan

Does a Broggan live here?
Old branches and books are a Broggan's favourite spot to nest

This is a helpful tool if you are ever suspicious a Broggan is afoot. Look for animal prints where they have no right to be: inside, on household objects.
This is very tricky as they can choose to be invisible but take note of any unusual things happening in your surroundings, moved objects, strange electrical flickers or unusual markings, there’s always a chance that a Broggan is responsible

Broggan Bells originated from many other myths and legends that use bells to detect mystical happenings - the wind chimes still hung outside many homes started as warning bells to alert the inhabitants to the presence of something strange. A Broggan Bell though is specific to detecting Broggans and these are rare and precious items.

The Broggan is an agricultural sprite and is thought to feast on berries, seeds and barley and almost anything else it can get its hands on, look out for branches being stripped inexplicably quickly.

A Broggan will also spoil food - if you see rotten fruit or off milk, these could well be an indicator that a Broggan has passed through.

Even if a Broggan does choose to show itself to you, you may begin to believe that you’re dreaming. When it leaves a Broggan never says goodbye but instead simply vanishes, which can lead you to wonder if your exchange ever actually took place.
